Helping you move better, feel stronger, and stay active — especially if you’re dealing with aches, stiffness or changes through midlife.

Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise designed to improve how your body moves and functions.
It focuses on building strength, control, mobility and better alignment — helping you feel more stable, more supported, and more confident in your body.
Originally developed for rehabilitation, Pilates is particularly helpful if you’re dealing with aches and pains, stiffness, reduced mobility, or feel like your body isn’t moving as well as it used to.
At Thrive and Shine, Pilates is delivered with a strong physiotherapy focus. Classes are small, which means you’re not just following along — you’ll receive individual guidance, hands-on correction where appropriate, and support to make sure you’re moving well.
Exercises are adapted to suit your body, your level and any injuries or limitations. If something doesn’t feel right or isn’t appropriate for you, alternatives are always given. The focus is on doing the exercises well, rather than just doing more or pushing through.
Whether you’re returning to exercise, managing ongoing niggles, or simply wanting to stay strong and active long-term, these sessions are designed to support you with safe, effective and realistic movement.

If you're dealing with pain, injury, pelvic health symptoms, or need more focused support than a class can provide, 1:1 Rehab Pilates offers a more tailored approach.
These sessions are led by a specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist and combine Pilates principles with physiotherapy expertise to support recovery, improve core and pelvic floor function, build strength, and help you move with more confidence.
Your first session includes a full assessment of your movement, strength and control. This allows us to identify areas of weakness, imbalance or restriction and create a personalised plan based on your individual needs and goals.
Sessions are adapted as you progress, ensuring you are working at the right level for your body and getting the most benefit from each exercise.
Follow-up sessions are available in 30-, 45- or 60-minute formats, with package options available. — see our Price List for details.
With over 21 years of experience as a physiotherapist and teaching Pilates since 2017, Roberta offers expert-led sessions that are supportive, adaptable and focused on helping you move well and feel better.
Classes are kept small so you receive individual guidance, supervision and hands-on correction where appropriate — helping you get more out of each session and ensuring you’re moving safely and effectively.
Sessions are welcoming and friendly, with a relaxed atmosphere. While the focus is on improving movement and building strength, there’s always room for a bit of laughter too. Many clients find the classes become an important part of both their physical wellbeing and their routine.
General classes are open to all, with sessions adapted to suit different needs, abilities and levels of experience.

All classes and one-to-one sessions take place at Thrive and Shine Women’s Wellness Studio in Winscombe, North Somerset — just a short drive from Cheddar, Axbridge and Weston-super-Mare.
