Understanding Your Symptoms Is the First Step to Improving Them

Perimenopause can bring a wide range of symptoms — from changes in mood, sleep, and energy to joint pain, anxiety, hot flushes, and brain fog. It’s common to feel unsure about what’s hormonal, what’s lifestyle-related, and what you can actually do to feel better.

The important thing to know is this: many symptoms can improve. With the right support, knowledge, and a tailored plan, you can make meaningful changes to your wellbeing — physically and emotionally.

My approach brings together physiotherapy, movement, lifestyle strategies, and mindset work to help you understand what’s happening in your body and build strong foundations for long-term health during perimenopause and beyond. This is why I created the SENSSE® method — a simple, whole-person framework that helps you focus on the areas that make the biggest difference.

You can learn more about the SENSSE® method further down this page.

Appointments are available in person at my clinic in Winscombe, North Somerset, or online for women across the UK.

Support Through Every Stage of Menopause

Whether you’re preparing for menopause, managing perimenopausal symptoms, or focusing on long-term postmenopausal health, personalised support can make a significant difference to how you feel.

Pregnant woman

Preparing for Menopause

Premenopause is any time before perimenopause begins. Hormonal changes often start to shift in the late 30s or early 40s, making this an ideal stage to understand what lies ahead and strengthen the foundations that support long-term health.

Support focuses on education, recognising early signs, and building strong habits around sleep, stress, strength, bone health and pelvic health. The more prepared you are going into perimenopause, the smoother your journey is likely to be.

Postnatal MOT

Perimenopause

Perimenopause is the transitional phase leading up to menopause and can last eight to ten years. Hormonal fluctuations during this time can trigger changes in mood, sleep, energy, joint comfort, anxiety, temperature regulation and menstrual cycles.

Support helps you understand what’s happening biologically, how symptoms connect, and which lifestyle changes can make a meaningful difference. A personalised plan can help you feel more in control and improve how you feel each day.

Postnatal Exercise

Postmenopause

Postmenopause begins once you haven’t had a period for a year. Some symptoms continue, others ease, and long-term health becomes increasingly important — particularly for bone density, heart health, cognitive function and pelvic health.

Support focuses on maintaining strength, protecting long-term wellbeing and managing any ongoing symptoms. With the right strategies in place, this stage can bring renewed confidence, stability and a positive approach to your future health.

Menopause MOT

A Menopause MOT is a detailed one-to-one assessment designed to help you understand your symptoms, identify what may be making them worse, and take the first steps towards feeling better. It brings together your medical, gynaecological and hormonal history with a clear picture of your lifestyle, daily stresses and current wellbeing.

During your appointment, we explore:

- your medical, gynaecological and hormonal history

- your current symptoms and main concerns

- your lifestyle foundations — sleep, stress, nutrition and activity

factors that may be contributing to how you feel

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what’s driving your symptoms and where meaningful improvements can be made. You’ll also receive a short written report highlighting your key priorities and personalised recommendations to begin your journey.

Most women find that the MOT gives them the clarity and direction they’ve been missing. Some choose to continue with further support — whether that’s targeted physiotherapy for joint or pelvic health issues, hypnosis for mindset or emotional wellbeing, or structured ongoing guidance through the Making SENSE of Menopause programme. This programme is based on the SENSSE® Method, which you can learn more about below.

Appointments available in clinic or online.

The SENSSE Method

postnatal MOT

I created the SENSSE® Method as a structured, whole-person way to support women through menopause. It brings together the areas that have the biggest influence on how you feel — physically, mentally and hormonally — so we can identify where small but meaningful changes will make the greatest difference.

SENSSE® includes six core pillars:
Subconscious, Empowerment, Nutrition, Stress Management, Sleep and Exercise.

Each plays a role in how your body responds to hormonal changes, how symptoms appear day to day, and how well you’re able to recover, adapt and maintain overall wellbeing.

Using this method helps us look beyond individual symptoms and understand the wider picture — what may be contributing, what might be amplifying symptoms, and which areas offer the most effective starting points for change. It provides a clear, personalised foundation for supporting your health at any stage of menopause.

Making SENSE of Menopause

This structured programme helps you understand your symptoms, strengthen your foundations, and build habits that genuinely support your hormonal health. Through clear, step-by-step guidance and the SENSSE® Method, you’ll learn how to improve energy, sleep, mood, stress and overall wellbeing — with a level of support that fits your needs.
