Specialist physiotherapy for pelvic health, pregnancy, postnatal recovery, menopause, and post-surgery rehabilitation.

Women’s Health Physiotherapy focuses on the unique physical needs of women at every stage of life. It helps you understand and improve how your body feels and functions — from pelvic floor health to joint mobility and overall movement.
Each session takes a whole-body approach, combining physical assessment and rehabilitation with attention to the mind-body connection. We look at how your pelvic floor, muscles, joints, and posture work together, helping you rebuild strength and confidence in the way you move. Treatment may include manual therapy, targeted exercises, and advice tailored to your goals and lifestyle.
If you’d like a general check-up in pregnancy, after birth, or during menopause, you can book a dedicated Pregnancy MOT, Postnatal MOT, or Menopause MOT for a full review and personalised guidance.

Your first appointment is a chance to talk through your symptoms, goals, and background in a relaxed and supportive setting. We’ll take a full history and discuss how your symptoms affect your daily life, exercise, and wellbeing.
A physical assessment follows, looking at how your posture, movement, joints, muscles, and pelvic floor are working together. Depending on your symptoms, the focus may be on different areas of the body and may include a pelvic floor examination if this is relevant. Where a pelvic assessment is appropriate, it will be explained fully and carried out only with your consent.
Everything will be explained clearly throughout, and you’re welcome to pause or ask questions at any time. Depending on your needs, there may be time for some hands-on treatment, and you’ll always leave with advice and exercises to begin straight away. You’ll also receive a clear plan and recommendations for any follow-up sessions that may support your recovery and long-term goals.
It’s completely normal to have questions before your first appointment. Here are some of the most common things women ask before starting physiotherapy.
Not always. Depending on your symptoms, you may benefit from a vaginal and/or rectal examination as part of your assessment. These are never mandatory and are only carried out with your full consent. They can provide valuable information about how your pelvic floor muscles are working, but you do not have to have one at your first appointment or at all if you’d prefer not to.
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. You may be asked to remove or adjust clothing so your physiotherapist can assess the relevant area — for example, your lower back, hips, or abdomen.
Your initial assessment lasts up to one hour. This allows time to discuss your symptoms, goals, and medical history in detail, and to carry out any relevant physical assessments.
The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, goals, and progress. Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you at your first appointment so you have a clear plan moving forward, including which treatment approach or package may be most beneficial for you. This ensures your care is tailored to your needs and delivered in the most effective way.
Yes. Babies are welcome in your appointment. Please bring a pram, car seat, or play mat so they can be safely contained during your session.
That depends on your symptoms and what’s appropriate on the day. Your first appointment focuses on understanding your history, goals, and assessment findings, so there may be time for some hands-on or practical treatment if it’s indicated. You will always leave with individualised advice and exercises to begin straight away, so you can start making progress from your first visit. Your physiotherapist will also explain your next steps and whether a package of follow-up sessions would help you achieve the best results.
