Thrive and Shine Women's Wellness

Move Better, Live Better MOT

Helping you stay active, strong and confident—so you can keep doing the things you love through your 40s, 50s and beyond.

The Move Better, Live Better MOT is designed to help you understand what's changing in your body, identify anything that could be holding you back, and give you the confidence to stay active, exercise safely and keep doing the things you love for years to come.

Why this assessment matters

Staying active is one of the best investments you can make in your future health. Whether you enjoy walking, gardening, travelling, Pilates, playing tennis or simply want to feel confident in your body, staying strong and active helps you keep doing the things you love.

As we move through perimenopause and beyond, changes in hormones can affect muscle strength, joint health, pelvic health and how our bodies respond to exercise.

At the same time, staying active is one of the most important things you can do for your long-term health — supporting your bones, muscles, heart, brain and overall wellbeing.

The Move Better, Live Better MOT isn't just about identifying problems. It's about understanding what's changing, spotting small changes before they become bigger barriers., and making sure your body is able to keep doing what you want it to do — now and for years to come.

If anything is getting in the way, whether that's pain, weakness, pelvic health symptoms or reduced confidence, we can identify it early and help you address it.

What to expect from your appointment

Your appointment is focused on understanding what's changing in your body, what's already working well, and anything that could stop you staying active in the future.

We’ll start with a discussion about your lifestyle, exercise, any symptoms and any changes you’ve noticed.

This is followed by a physical assessment, which may include:

• Strength and movement testing

• Balance and stability checks

• Assessment of key joints and areas of concern

• Screening for pelvic health symptoms

If there are specific issues, we can focus in more detail on the areas that are most relevant to you.

You'll leave with a clear understanding of how your body is functioning, what to focus on next, and practical advice to help you stay active, move with confidence and keep doing the things you enjoy.

What happens after your assessment?

At the end of your session, we’ll talk through what we’ve found and what your body needs going forward.

This might include:

• A personalised plan to support your strength, movement and activity

• Exercises to help you stay active and prevent future problems

• Support for specific issues such as pain or pelvic health symptoms

• Guidance on appropriate exercise or Pilates classes

• A longer-term plan to maintain your health and independence

For some women, this assessment provides reassurance that they're already doing the right things. For others, it identifies small changes that can be addressed before they become bigger barriers to staying active and independent. Whatever we find, you'll leave with a clear plan for your next steps.
